Official Medical Sources

This page lists the kinds of official or professional sources the English edition should use when a page depends on medical boundaries, screening, emergency care, public health, consumer protection, or family records.

U.S. And International Anchors

  • CDC for public-health topics, vaccines, infectious disease, emergency preparedness, and prevention materials.
  • NIH and MedlinePlus for patient-facing explanations of diseases, tests, medications, and body systems.
  • NHLBI, NCI, NIA, NIMH, and other NIH institutes when a topic needs a more specific anchor.
  • USPSTF for preventive services and screening recommendations.
  • AHA, ACC, ADA, ACS, AAP, ACOG, AGS, and similar professional organizations when a chapter needs specialty boundaries.
  • FDA, FTC, and NCCIH for supplements, devices, health fraud, product claims, and consumer health decisions.
  • WHO or other international public-health sources when the English page should stay globally readable.

How To Use This Page

Use this page as a source-finding starting point, not as a shortcut around source review. High-risk claims still need the specific page, guideline, review date, and wording checked before publication.

When a source is selected for an English page, record it in Source Registry.
