Health Youpu / 健康有谱

Health Youpu is an open-source health literacy book for families.

The Chinese title, 健康有谱, roughly means “having a clearer sense of what to do.” The project helps ordinary families sort health questions into safer next actions: when to seek urgent care, when to contact a doctor, how to prepare for a visit, how to keep basic family health records, and how to avoid being pushed around by health misinformation.

This project is not medical advice. It does not diagnose, prescribe, recommend stopping medication, or replace professional care. When warning signs appear, readers should contact local emergency services, urgent care, or qualified clinicians.

English Preview

The Chinese edition is the source edition. A small English preview is available so international readers and contributors can understand the project direction:

These pages are adaptations, not literal translations. They preserve the same product idea and medical boundaries while using language that fits English-speaking readers.

Why This Project Exists

Many families do not need to become medical experts. They need a calmer way to answer practical questions:

  • Is this a red flag, a doctor visit, or something to record and watch?
  • What facts should we bring to the doctor?
  • How do we help parents or family members without turning care into control?
  • How do we keep medications, allergies, reports, and follow-up instructions from disappearing into chat history?
  • How do we avoid confusing health marketing with evidence?

The book is designed as a family health decision support layer, not as a clinical guideline.

What The Project Contains

The Chinese source edition currently includes:

  • a structured book on healthspan, risk, checkup markers, metabolic health, cardiovascular risk, sleep, mental health, cancer screening boundaries, elder care, and health misinformation;
  • practical handbook pages for warning signs, symptoms, doctor visits, department navigation, checkups, family health cards, health records, chronic marker logs, and health product checks;
  • a source registry, review log, changelog, roadmap, and correction workflow.

Maintenance Model

The project is actively maintained by casper.

Codex is used as a maintenance assistant for:

  • drafting and refactoring VitePress pages;
  • improving navigation and mobile reading experience;
  • turning reader and clinician feedback into scoped revisions;
  • checking links, builds, and changelog entries;
  • maintaining bilingual structure and source metadata.

Editorial decisions, medical boundaries, source selection, and final publication choices remain human-maintained.
